How to optimize the video/audio for VTConnect Care sessions?

Audio and Video Requirements

Webcam (internal or external)

Microphone (either built in to the device or the camera or as part of a headset)

Audio output (speaker, headphones, etc.)

Noise cancellation headphones with a built in microphone are recommended for the best audio experience. But if not available, regular headphones or ear buds are recommended.

Be sure to plug in your headphones or earbuds prior to the start of a session!

      Minimum System Requirements

Hardware and Operating System: Compatible with Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS

Windows: Requires Windows 10, version 1709 (Fall Creators Update) or greater
Mac: Requires OS X 10.11 (El Capitan) or greater
Android: Requires Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or greater
iOS: Requires iOS 11 or greater

Even though VTConnect Care is cross-platform, we recommend the use of a desktop or laptop device when possible to achieve optimal conditions for telehealth sessions.

      Network Connection Speed Requirements

Network connection speed is a critical factor for a good experience - The minimum network connection requirement is 1.5 Mbps download/1.5 Mbps upload.

If connecting via a cellular network, the same speed requirements must be met.

Speeds vary by provider, technology, and specific equipment.

To check your network speed on a computer, go to http://www.speedtest.net/.

To check your network speed on a mobile device download Speedtest by Ookla from your app store, then turn off the WiFi on the device to test the cellular network speed or turn off cellular data to test the WiFi network speed.

Consider Limiting the Number of Group Session Participants

The VTConnect Care App was built to technically support larger groups (10 plus) in a single session, but we typically recommend that you limit your group sessions to between 3-7 participants. Smaller groups typically result in increased practitioner and client satisfaction with telehealth delivery and improved technical performance of the session.
