In order for healthcare providers to legally provide telehealth services across the entire United States, laws and licensure requirements must catch up to the technology. Fortunately, there is an expedited pathway to licensure now available through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact, making it possible for qualified physicians in certain states to more easily practice in multiple states. According to the Federation of State Medical Boards, the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact began accepting applications from interested physicians wishing to practice in multiple states on April 7,2017.
